How does this get moved BACK to the offshore thread but Mango's post is in the poly thread?

I guess the mods are fishing and waiting for Mobby to wake up so we can do 10 pages on this??

If you really believe that:

1) Ensuring people in their 70s and 80s and 90s live a few years longer is more important than younger generations having any quality of life at all

2) that you can't isolate the elderly and still live life

Then you may be a liberal. There is no known cure. Mortality rate is 100% as well.

Yes. You are deeply suffering. Trust me, you would be on here 14 hours a day virus or not. Who are you trying to fool?

Guy leaves behind a wife, 3 children, 5 grandchildren

571 godfather's pizza joints
Tens of thousands of jobs created

His life positively impacted so many in a big way. A true example of the American dream.

Little will be said about this life well lived.

But much will be said, with little shame, in the "15 minutes of fame" resurgence about his death.

I work from home now, why wouldn't I have another browser open to kill some time?

Kids aren't going to school. Do you have any idea the impact that will have on 7 year olds, 8 year olds, 9 year olds, 10 year olds, 11 year olds, 12 year olds, 13 year olds, 14 year olds...

Not only that, according to pretty much every analyst alive, it'll take more than 10 years to climb back to where we were before this started, and that's if we end the lockdown this second, which we won't do.

It's just annoying that people think if he "only" had another 5-6 years to live that dying in a month is pretty much the same.

So much ignorance.

1) The quality of life for the younger generation is the best it has ever been.
2) Just because someone is old does not mean they should lose their freedom. They can isolate if they want to, that is not our decision to make.

What is "quality of life" & what is it worth or say about a society that fails miserably to protect the most weak & vulnerable? Nada.

How many deaths by premeditated abortion murders are there a year in "America the (formerly) Great"? More than by any other cause of death?

The very old have more wisdom, knowledge & usefulness to society than the very young.

Where do you get the reasoning to state #1? Suicide rate by younger people is higher than it has ever been in this country. Kids are less happy than ever, largely due to social media.

I saw one poll where they asked teenagers whether life had meaning, and a higher percentage of them than ever said no.

I think you're confusing having a smart phone in your hands with quality of life. The truth is, America is getting more and more miserable as the generations turn over. This pandemic is just going to light the fuse of what's coming in the next decade.

I don't get why you keep preaching to me about abortion. I am a conservative, and most conservatives are pro life. We are overruled by the liberals who are the majority in this country and won that debate in the courts and in the public's mind by saying that babies don't matter because it oppresses women to protect them.

By the way, it is about 55/45 in America in terms of pro baby murder/protect babies... where you live, in Canada, I'd estimate it is more like 80/20. So wag your finger at your countrymen, not me.

As to your usefulness comment, the average person on earth saves a toddler vs a 90 year old person from the cliche burning building and you can only save one. There's good reason for that. And we are burning the future down to play security theater right now with how we handle this pandemic.
